Day 12 (Sheila) – Making Changes like a Boss

I am feeling a little excited about doing my daily 30 Day practice today. Something shifted for me yesterday and I found myself in a groove and adapting to what I committed to accomplish for the day. I got some shizz done!

I am going to attribute part of that to this process. It is keeping me present to my goals and who I want to show up as on a daily basis. I like that.

One major shift that happened is that I not only finally posted something to my Instagram account, but I actually scheduled three more posts. This might not seem like a big deal to most people, but this showing up on social media makes my whole body tense up. I’m planning to do my best to keep it fun and light for me and we’ll see how it goes.

One thing I noticed this morning is that I have some room to be more conscious in my routine. I get up around 5:30ish, have a glass of water, perform a quickish Qi Gong routine, then Shambhavi Mahamudra kriya. Next is breakfast and reviewing my reminder list. This all works very well for me. However, I find I sit at the table a little longer than I need to. I let my mind wander. Sometimes I look up something on my phone and before I know it, I am on the slippery slope of time-wasting scrolling.

That is the space I want to fill with something else. I usually shower after my husband is off to work so I’m not in his way, but maybe I can find some activity that feels better to me than scrolling. Perhaps I could play with my dog for a while or talk to my plants or start working on and caring for the outside garden I’ve been planning and putting off. Any of these things would be in line with my “invented” persona.

Which means I’m going to make that happen.
