The older I get, the more obvious it seems that our way of being is what matters most. We can choose whatever we want and our “being-ness” will shape it. To me, it’s like choosing a genre to write in or creating art in a particular style.
It’s weird that our culture has created so many distortions and distractions that end up thwarting us on our journey. I suppose that is a testament to the focus and will that must evolve to get above all that so you can really begin making headway on the life you want.
Within a month or so of adding Shambhavi Mahamudra kriya to my daily routine, I had a dream that I was running in a crowd of people. From my vantage point, there was no end in sight of the people around me and I had to keep running to keep pace with them all.
Then, I just…stopped.
The crowd kept running and I could see them disappearing over the horizon, a dust cloud rising and settling in their wake. I stood still, looking around. The land seemed somewhat desolate and I was alone. And, yet, I knew that I was on a new adventure and I just needed to choose a direction.
I think doing inner work is usually like that. There can be overwhelm from what seems like infinite possibilities. There can be uncertainty because we have skills to learn and worry that we won’t do well. We are often not going in the same direction as the majority of people.
If nothing else, finding that quiet place within yourself helps you start to hear something new – your self, a higher power. That is where real magic emerges.
Sure, there are trials and errors. That’s how we learn.
I’m going through my own. I am also loving it a lot.
The only stopping place is life is death. Until then, if you’re really engaging with life, you will continue to expand and grow and learn. If your way of being is to embrace that, there is no limit to what you can become.
The 30 Day Experiment is one way to ignite that spark within yourself. But, there are many others out there as well.
It is my hope that you find what works for you, and grow into what you were meant to be. 🙂
