ME IN 10 SECONDS

I’m a deep sea diver, wild adventurer, martial artist, athlete, and a fitness junkie – though not in that order.

I’m also a smart city consultant, engineer scientist, tech investor, and a self-proclaimed cook – also not in that order.

I’m fascinated with the idea of learning new skills in record time by breaking down the conventional methods. I’m the biggest fan of the 80/20 principle.

Total introvert (INTJ), I find passion in life by constantly putting myself through new challenges and trying to rise above them.

Living in Australia, I am a self-experimenter, a human guinea pig, and only write about things that I’ve rigorously tested on myself and people in my network. No bullshit.

WHAT THIS BLOG IS ABOUT

In this blog, I share with you (my readers) the exact tactics, processes, and psychology that I use to 10X my productivity and learn anything the uncommon way. Here’s the list of all the skills I’ve learnt so far.

How I become good at any skill – sport, software, academics, photography, professional work, negotiation, influencing people – seemingly overnight.

How I achieve results in running, muscle gain or fat loss in 30 days that most people believe take months or even years to achieve.

How I pick up a new habit or give up a self-destructive one in 30 days.

 

It’s about selecting the 20% that will help you reach 80-90% skill or output level.

I’m a systems-whore. I spend weeks, months, sometimes even years, testing and experimenting with the exact 20% to focus on to become great at anything, or to achieve far greater results in 30 days than you ever thought possible.

Every 30 days, you should feel superhuman (or badass).

 

WHAT’S SO SPECIAL ABOUT 30 DAYS

You can learn any skill in as less as 1 week of concentrated effort. I have. Many times.

The problem is that on the 8th day, you will forget it!

Training the body to perform mechanical actions is much faster than internalising the principles in the long term memory.

A 30-day period is there for your mind to naturally adapt to this new skill or habit.

 

Your actual number of hours spent to acquire any new skill or produce 10X output will be laughable by modern standards. Here is a snapshot of how many hours I’ve spent on these things:

Gain 6.3 Kg Muscle in 30 Days – (30-min gym sessions twice a week)
(and I’m a fucking hard-gainer)

Achieve 3X Greater Output than colleagues at work – 10 hour workweek (2 days, 5 hours each)
(and became the highest-paid employee amongst these colleagues)

Go from being a 2km max runner (that too while panting) to 15km in 30 days – (1 hour training twice a week)

Learn Swimming – 10 hours (2.5 hours each Saturday for 4 weeks)
(Participated in the Singapore International Triathlon the following Sunday)

Learn Web Designing – 12 hours (3 hours each Sunday for 4 weeks)
(Made $15,000+ in freelancing in the next 4 months)

Learn Photography – 8 hours (2 hours each Saturday for 4 weeks)

Once before I’ve taken a leap of faith by cliff jumping from a height of a 5-storey building. By the time I landed, I was several times more confident, more adventurous, and more addicted to an uncommon lifestyle.

This blog is my second leap of faith. This time it’s about sharing my uncommon ways with you.
